Update On House Hunting...

You know how I said that we had 5 picked out to see on Thursday and less than 12 hours later before we are about to go see them we found out 2 were already under agreement? Well... we found out ON THE WAY to our first house that a 3rd was now under agreement... then we find out when we get to the first house that the 4th house is under agreement! So the house we were at was the only one we were seeing that day! Long story short. We loved it. Put an offer in the next morning (this morning). And we found out a couple of hours later they went with another offer. We REALLY didn't expect to get it because apparently there has been a bidding war going on the past 5 days and people kept getting countered and we were entering so late in the game so our real estate agent told us we most likely wouldn't get countered and they'd probably go with someone else if our offer wasn't the best. We really weren't expecting to get it but thought we'd try anyway.

Our agent has this automatically updated list on his website of all the properties for sale that meet our criteria and are in the areas we picked so I was going through that tonight and I see one of the houses that we were supposed to see yesterday that they said was now under agreement. It doesn't say it has an accepted offer (some of the houses on the list will say it has an accepted offer but they keep it on the market for a little longer) so we'd clearly see if it did. I just e-mailed our agent and asked what's up with that.

AHHH! This is so frustrating. It's as if you literally need to put an offer in after 10 minutes of seeing the house or else it'll get taken. This business is way too fast for me!

Its not usually like that... I think its because houses are so cheap at the moment.. by buying a house is annoying! Either someone buys it for you.. or the buyers take it off the market or it fails inspection... its a frustrating game to play. The first house we wanted to buy we found out had thousands of dollars in termite damge. the sellers refused to decrease the price so we backed out of the sale.

Yeah, it's definitely because houses are so cheap right now. It's DEFINITELY a buyers market. And yes... buying a house is pretty much the most annoying process on this planet. I just want it to be done and over with.

Houses are really cheap, until you get into the bidding wars! That is what got us when we were house hunting. People would price low, knowing that buyers would fight over them. The right house will jump out at you and you will get it!
