Blog Neglect...

I've been neglecting the blog lately! I've just been so busy with house stuff... I don't even have any new pictures to post!

Today we went and ordered all the furniture and appliances for the new house. We were supposed to be closing tomorrow but now it looks like it's going to be sometime next week. I don't care, as long as it happens! We bought our refrigerator(in white) which I am SOOOO excited about you have no idea! It just looks SO roomy and so nice and big, I can't wait. Even though it's not even THAT much bigger than the one we have now. The one we have now is 19.6 cu. ft. and this one is 20.6 but it appears to be so much roomier. I love the way it's set up, I can't wait for it! I ordered it without the icebox and ice maker which I'm glad I was able to do. I didn't think you could do that and I was looking at all the refrigerators on the floor and wondering "geeez... can you not get a fridge these days without one?" because I think they just take up a lot of freezer space! I was glad I was able to choose whether or not to keep it. Then we got our washer and dryer. We needed to get the kind that stacks on top of each other. I'm pretty excited about these too, new appliances just make me so happy! haha Does anyone out there have an electric dryer? That's what we had to get, is it really expensive to run???

At the furniture store we ended up changing our minds about the bedroom set. We went with this: (everything you see in this picture)

But we stayed with our original choice for the living room set which again, includes everything you see in this picture... even the lamps!!!

What's Up With Us...

not much is the answer! Just dealing with house stuff. We ran into some trouble with home insurance... apparently when you live less than a mile away from the ocean people are going to give you OUTRAGEOUS quotes for home insurance. My mortgage lender told me what she thought it should be around and said she doubted it'd be any higher than that soooo... I put that much aside to purchase the first year of home insurance. Now in her defense, she didn't know how close our house was to the beach. So I don't blame her but I was shocked to say the least when the quotes started coming in. Thankfully, we eventually found it for only $114 more a year than we thought it was going to be! I'll take it!

In other news... we've decided Jo DEFINITELY needs a big girl bed. She's never once tried to climb out of her crib but I'm starting to get the feeling that if she did try she definitely could and that is NOT good. If you remember correctly, we were going to buy this bed when we bought all the other new furniture for the new house. I've decided this isn't a good first big girl bed for Jo, as much as I LOVE it, it's just too high and I don't know... I don't have a good feeling about it. I've decided to get her just a regular toddler bed. I ordered this one from Wal-Mart and am soooo excited! I love it. I like that it has a enclosed feeling to it yet it's still a toddler bed. Look at the other picture they have up, when we're done with it being her bed we can turn it into a little couch like thing and put it in her play room or something. I like things like this... things that grow with you and have multiple purposes that you know you'll get a lot of use out of throughout the years. I'm all for it!

Here are some random pictures from a few weeks ago that I just never ended up posting... until now that is! haha

Our New Addition!

So as you all know we rescued a Pomeranian named Mr. Jordan from a shelter in North Carolina.

When he first came he was very matted and needed a bath BAD. So this picture was right after his first bath...

You can see from these pictures his fur was not the best! So I booked him an appointment at the groomers the very next day (yesterday) so he could just get shaved or what they call a "lion cut." Pomeranians have such long fluffy hair so you really need to take care of it. Once it starts growing back in I'm going to brush him all the time!

And here are pictures from after his "lion cut" ummmmmm.... please ignore his man parts that are on display hahaha lets just say... I can't wait for all his hair to grow back! hahaha

He's such a GOOD dog. He's 5 years old so he's already trained very well. He sleeps in HIS bed all night long. I thought it'd be hard to get him to sleep in his own bed but he just loves it. He just chills in it all day and lets me know when he needs to go out. He's such a great dog! Jo absolutely loves him. She keeps going in the silverware drawer and getting a spoon and putting dog food on it and trying to feed him off of it. He actually will eat off of it sometimes! haha. Jo is already so attached, you should have seen her meltdown when we had to drop him off at the groomers. When we got home she sat in his bed and held his bone and just cried for him! haha it was the saddest thing ever!

Pictures Of Our House!

Today was our house inspection. It went REALLY well. Closing is sorta up in the air, we're going to figure it out on Monday. It could be the end of this month or sometime in August but whenever it is it has to be within 30 days from yesterday. It was nice to get to go through the house again seeing as though the first time and only time we've ever been there we weren't really taking it seriously because the house already had an accepted offer at the time and we didn't think we had a chance so we looked at it but we weren't like.... looking at it as though it was going to be OUR house haha. I was VERY happy to find out a few things. First of all, it DOES have an attic which I wasn't sure about. ALL 3 bedrooms have closets. The kitchen has a closet/pantry type thing that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Did I mention I love that? It is EXACTLY what we need. I love that the cabinets are not to the ceiling... I can easily just open and reach the tallest of the cabinets and I also like that you can put things on top of the cabinets since they don't touch the ceiling. Ya know... little decorative things would be cute up there. We got to really take a good look at the backyard, it has a huge brand new deck and it has a nice yard that I really can't wait to get my hands on and make it even nicer. I also love the little hall area that takes you to the deck. That's where the stackable washer and dryer will be and there is room for some shelving units and what not, just another nice place for storing things like the vacuum etc. etc. I didn't take pictures of the inside... the seller still lives there and was there during the inspection soooo yeah, a little weird haha.

Here is the front of the house... obviously hahaha. There is virtually NO land on the left side of the house. This area of Massachusetts is sooo tightly packed, it isn't uncommon at all for the area. Everyone is so close together and most people don't have a lot of land AT ALL. We actually have the biggest backyard on the street.

Here are some pictures of the deck, it was kinda hard to get it all into a picture. It is REALLY big and brand new. I can't wait to put Jo's little picnic table (that's in the box in our garage) out there! Only thing about the deck is that I definitely want to put some lattice around the bottom of the deck to block it off. Because as you can see there is A LOT of room under there and I don't want Jo running under there!

Here's the backyard. It's a little weird... there's yard then there's a hill leading down to more yard so it's kinda hard to tell from the pictures what's going on but I took them from multiple angles to give you all a better look at it! I also definitely want to get the backyard completely fenced in, especially since we're getting our dog tomorrow! =)

Our New Addition...

My cousin is the founder of a non-profit organization that saves dogs from southern states where they gas them to death as their way of euthanizing them. She saved us a dog! He is a Pomeranian and I am SO excited for him to arrive!
I went out today and bought everything I could think of that I would need!

Here is Jo in one of her new dresses she got for her birthday. My parents came over today and we went out to lunch and out to a few stores.
