Josephine's 1st Birthday Party!

Josephine's first birthday party was on Sunday afternoon. It went great! We had it at the hall at the church near our house, same place I had my baby shower and same place we will have every future birthday party for Jo haha. Here are some pictures of the place after we set up a bit, this is before I set up any of the food and appetizers so it looks a little plain...

I got SO much food for this party because I was so worried about having enough with what I originally got/ordered. Ofcourse we have a lot left over haha. I REFUSE to let a single morsel go to waste so I frooze some and am forcing everyone to eat the leftovers I left out in the fridge.

Jo had lunch a little before guests started to arrive... in the second picture she's tilting her head way back and laughing for NO reason, it was like she was a crazy person haha she just loves eating THAT much!. And I LOVE the 3rd picture, how great is that?

Here are some picture that Jo took with different guests.

Jo and Dada...

Jo and Nana... Jo doesn't look too happy in this one because she took a 40 minute nap that day so atfirst she was a little cranky and clingy but she got over it once more people showed up.

Jo and Auntie Marcy...

Jo and Rob's cousin Diane...

My bestfriend Kim and Jo...

Jo and Uncle Rich...

Jo and Auntie Rachel...

Jo felt a lot better once all her guests arrived and she had a lot of fun! She was still really tired but was able to play without needing to be held or anything...

Here is Lori and Josephine's boyfriend, Ayden...

I was so happy my bestfriend Kim was able to make it with little baby Layla! How adorable is this baby!? Seriously, I love her! And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the last picture! =)

Once we sang happy birthday I announced that I was NOT going to be the one who cut the cake. haha I would have NO clue where to even begin going a cake like that! So Rob's cousin Donna did and I was SHOCKED. She was actually able to take the top tier off, here is the cupcake which was the top tier, successfully removed from the cake! This was the only part left over and so we got to take home the whole cupcake! Rob is lucky, I don't like chocolate cake and the whole top part was chocolate but I DO like the 6 inches of frosting that was on top of the cake! haha

Here is JO enjoying her cake =) I forgot to put on her Birthday Girl crown for when we sang "happy birthday" so I randomly put it on her while she ate, but it didn't stay on long and got a lot of green frosting on it!

Jo was pooped after her party...

Well guess what, this isn't it! Jo has ANOTHER birthday party in Rhode Island on July 4th. This is for my side of the family and my mom and aunt are planning the WHOLE thing so I'm not worrying about it! THANK GOD! I've had my fair share of party planning for quite some time haha =)

1 Year Checkup!

Today we went to the doctors. Jo is 23 1/2 pounds and 31 1/2 inches long. She grew 2 1/2 inches in 3 months! She got 2 shots. I was going to ask that we wait on the MMRV shot but it turns out their MMRV is out of stock so she got only the chicken pox vaccine and then hep A. That worked out for me! The doctor said that there is a special dose of dramamine we can give her but it's not something you do everyday or anything like that so we're going to do it for our road trip to Mystic, Connecticut in August.

I'm going to post pictures from her birthday party tonight! I can't do it until Jo goes to sleep haha

Birthday Girl!

Here I am with my little birthday girl =)

I made Jo birthday cupcakes. They were SOOO good. This is the first time I've baked using my new electrical hand mixer from KitchenAid (AMAZZZING) instead of just using a wisk and doing it myself, I swear... having smoother batter made a difference! And the sprinkles I used were the crystalized sugar kind (pink, ofcourse). It was just REALLY good haha anyway, enough about the cupcakes! On to the pictures!

Jo did NOT hesitate to eat her cupcake. She ate the WHOLE thing and then continued to lick her hands and her tray for about 10 minutes afterwards. After she finished she looked over at her cousin, who had all of her cupcake left because all she did was pick at the frosting a little so far, and Jo looked at her like "Ummm... is there something wrong with you???" haha it was pretty funny!
