Yesterday I realized that Jo had only been in her pool ONCE this whole summer. I wanted to change that so badly. Lately I've been feeling like she isn't really getting a "summer experience" like we aren't really doing anything summery. Maybe I feel like that because for the past 2 weeks straight it's been raining and thundering and what not, but that's all over! So I was determined yesterday to get some use out of this pool, we went outside to set it up and Jo decided she couldn't wait a second longer. She jumped in with her clothes on and a regular diaper on...
I let her play and then when we went inside.... oh my god. This should have been a Pampers commercial to show just how absorbent Pampers diapers are. That diaper was FULL. It was so solid you could have knocked on it like a piece of wood. Rob said it seriously weighed about 4 pounds. FOUR POUNDS! haha I don't know how she even was able to stand up with it on. It was by far a record for biggest diaper ever!
Then today Jo took a 45 minute long nap... that's it... for the WHOLE day. I was determined to keep her busy as to distract her from the fact she only slept for 45 minutes. First we went to the playground for about an hour and a half or so. No one was there, probably because it was hotter than hell out! Luckily we had plenty of fluids and were slathered up with sun screen.
Here are some pictures of Jo being silly in the kitchen while I cleaned up her lunch before we went and then enjoying the playground...
Jo kissing the floor haha
Then Jo went off to the side of the playground and sat in the mulch. I'm contemplating getting a pile of mulch for our backyard because she sat in the same spot and just played with it for 20 minutes! She would have sat longer if I did't get her up to leave... which we didn't even because then she got distracted by the fence surrounding the playground...
Then we came home and went in the pool for awhile before dinner. The top awning part of Jo's pool had to be thrown away =( It was so cute! But there was a huge hole in it and it couldn't be patched up. But I still love it =) And Jo certainly doesn't mind.
This is Jo's new thing. Once she gets all wet she pats herself and wonders why her bathing suit is so stuck to her haha you'll see her do it in the video...
Edit: Blogger is not letting me upload the video of Jo in the pool, I'll just include it in my next post.
And here is the little girl, tired as ever, after our busy day...

so cute! Yeah for summer! Taylor stopped taking naps at one. don't get me wrong, I do not condone this behavior in children! haha! She also had to be kept busy ALL THE TIME! I feel for you and know exactly what you are going through with the lack of nap time. I never got anything done! The only thing I could do was to lay down with her, and then sneak out once she fell asleep. But, that was only for maybe 20 minutes. So, I guess, I have no advice!haha!!!
I love the video of her in the mulch. They all have the same mannerisms which is soooo cute! She's a little doll!

That 45 min thing was what K did when I tryed to do one nap.. she could not survive on that little sleep so we went back to 2 naps. You did a good job keeping her busy though. YOu are brave to go to the park when its that hot!!!! We went out for like 20 min and I was dying!!! K loves mulch too but she likes to eat it!! Ohh and K just started doing that Kiss the floor thing too- Its hilarious!
I love the pic with her rubbing her eyes!
